The Polling Place is No Place for the Politics of Injustice

Last week we took a stand against voter suppression and racial justice in Medford. A local polling place, the VFW, posted a large "All Lives Matter" sign on the front of the building. That campaign was created as a direct rebuke to "Black Lives Matter" and a denial that there is racial injustice in policing and criminal justice. Anyone who believes in what Black Lives Matter is about stands to be discouraged about voting at a polling location that has stated its position against the movement and the people affected by so plainly.

The Mystic Valley NAACP objected publicly to the City's Chief Election Officer. He is refusing to have the sign removed or to change the polling location for the upcoming election.
