MYSTIC VALLEY AREA BRANCH INTERNSHIP

POSITION TITLE: Intern – Mystic Valley Area Brach—NAACP
LOCATION: Anywhere within the branches’ footprint 

Hours: 10/Month (more hours depending on business needs and President approval)

Wage: $17.50/ HR

Description of Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Skilled secretarial and administrative duties assisting the Mystic Valley Branch NAAP President, Secretary, Treasurer and branch at large to discharge the functions of the branch; all other related work, as required. 

  • Performs work remotely for the time being and work under typical office conditions when safe.

  • Respond to requests for information; liaise with other groups, work outside of normal business hours, and attend meetings; the volume of work is subject to seasonal and other fluctuations, in response to national/local needs. 

  • Interact frequently  with the public and other branch members, interacting with volunteer and professional organizations, boards and commissions; most contact is in person (when safe), by telephone, text or email.

  • Maintain/updates website with meeting info, events, donation and volunteer opportunities, committee updates and data entry as needed.

  • Manage social media accounts for the branch, this includes: Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter and other accounts.

Recommended Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

​

  • Young Professional or College Student. 

  • Knowledge of office administration, basic practices and procedures; experience using zoom, and managing email marketing tools such as, Mailchimp.

  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Social media experience. Good communication and organizational skills.

  • Fundraising experience.

  • Not required, but experience with web design and Adobe Photoshop would be preferred.
